Uridium
Uridium
is the follow-up to Andrew Braybrook's masterpiece, Paradroid. It is
nowhere near as good as Paradroid when it comes to playability.
Paradroid had a brilliant game concept Uridium is more straight forward
blasting. You have to destroy big dreadnought spaceships floating
around a planet. You do this by fly to the end of the ship and landing
on it.
The game
was great on the Commodore due to it's, at the time, brilliant
graphics. The Spectrum version doesn't have any of this, it has crappy
scrolling and monochrome gaprhics.
Once
again the Spectrum's screen is shorter than the Commodore screen making
enemies jump out at you rather fast. On the Commodore you have a simple
little bonus level game while the Spectrum lacks it, no big loss
however.
The Commodore game is much better than the Spectrum version, the
Spectrum can not comptete on games like this with the good old Commie!
